HQJ Coffee School proudly presents the WCC Judge Skills Program for Brewers Cup, an official program of the World Coffee Championships (WCC). This is a rare opportunity to learn directly and gain judging skills according to WCC standards for the Brewers Cup competition.

𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐖𝐂𝐂 𝐉𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦

• Developed by WCC, based on the latest research from the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) and the Coffee Value Assessment (CVA) system.

• Purpose: Equip participants with a thorough understanding of the judging process, scoring system, and WCC regulations in the Brewers Cup competition.

• Certification: Participants will receive an official Judge Skills Certificate issued by WCC & SCA. This is the first step on the journey toward becoming a WCC Certified Judge.

• The program is led by certified WCC Representatives, featuring updated content aligned with WCC Rules & Regulations and using the Coffee Value Assessment (CVA).

𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 – 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭

Participants will learn about:

• Judging criteria, scoring methods, and evaluation systems for the WCC Brewers Cup.

• The latest WCC regulations and current research from the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA).

• Sensory evaluation based on the Coffee Value Assessment (CVA).

𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝?

This program is open to everyone, especially:

• Judges: Those who want to strengthen their judging skills and aim to serve at national coffee competitions – particularly the Vietnam Brewers Cup 2025. HQJ strongly encourages upcoming judges to participate as a foundation to progress toward judging at WCC competitions.

• Brewers Cup Competitors: Those who want to fully understand judging criteria and scoring methods, optimizing their preparation for competition – especially for Vietnam Brewers Cup 2025.

• Coffee Professionals & Enthusiasts: Anyone interested in WCC competitions.

𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐭: Edward Choo – WCC Representative

Edward is a World Coffee Championships Judge with years of experience in judging and coaching at international competitions. This will be his first time leading the WCC Judge Skills Program in Vietnam.

• Hanoi: Sept 28–29 at Visty Specialty Coffee, Hanoi, Vietnam

• Ho Chi Minh City: Oct 1–2 at HQJ Coffee School, Hochiminh, Vietnam

Duration: 2 consecutive days, 8 hours/day (incl. 1-hour lunch break)
