The Specialty Coffee Association courses at HQJ Coffee School
HQJ School is the first SCA Premier Training Campus in Vietnam recognized as meeting all the requirements in terms of equipment and facilities for the ENTIRE 5 modules in the Coffee Skills Program by the Specialty Coffee Association, specifically including: Green Coffee; Roasting; Coffee Tasting (Sensory); Brewing; and Barista Career.
SCA Sensory
The SCA SENSORY course - Coffee Tasting, offers in-depth knowledge about coffee to become a professional coffee taster. Participants will learn from top experts, with the course blending theory and practice to help develop skills in identifying and evaluating coffee based on the international standards of the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA).
SCA Barista Career
The course provides essential tools for those who wish to pursue a serious and professional Barista career, with knowledge based on the standards of the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA). Additionally, the course trains students to the highest standards, drawing from the expertise of champions from the most prestigious Barista competitions in Vietnam and internationally.
SCA Coffee Roasting
In the coffee roasting course, you will experience coffee roasting firsthand and taste the flavors of the roast batch. This is an excellent way for students to gain a deeper understanding of "What is coffee roasting?" The course provides you with a deeper insight into the coffee roasting process. You will be guided on how to use international standard terminology to describe the roasting process and the roasting machines.
SCA Green Coffee
The SCA Green Coffee course covers knowledge on coffee botany, cultivation, post-harvest processing, market dynamics, preservation, transportation, decaffeination, equipment maintenance, and certification. It is suitable for all levels and includes practical exercises on handling green coffee.
SCA Coffee Owner
The course equips coffee shop owners with essential coffee-making knowledge and skills according to the standards of the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA). Additionally, participants will learn how to develop a cafe menu, arrange equipment, recruit staff, and explore many other interesting topics.
SCA Coffee Value Assessment
The course offers an in-depth look at the factors that determine the value of coffee in the professional market.
Participants will learn how to evaluate quality through sensory analysis, understand market trends, and apply pricing strategies based on comprehensive data and quality indicators.
